Discover Sylvandria – My fantasy world

I’m Mark: a technology consultant, karate instructor, fungi enthusiast, and writer who accidentally wandered into a world of spirits, ancient myths, and long journeys… and never quite found the way out again.
Sylvandria began as a simple idea for a story and quickly became something much larger — a sprawling epic, half a million words long, full of characters who refuse to leave me alone. This site is where I gather everything that’s grown around it: the lore, the notes, the maps, the late-night thoughts, and the lessons learned from getting hopelessly lost in a world I invented.
Alongside the writing, I’m also building the infrastructure to hold it all — a home server I configured from scratch, WordPress stretched to its limits, and a steadily expanding archive of OneNote pages and mind maps. It’s part storytelling, part world-building, part technical puzzle.
Somehow, in between all that, I still have a full-time job, teach karate, and roam the woods with a camera looking for fungi that most people walk straight past.
